Doi Pui Hmong Village
A Hmong village high on Doi Pui, the granite peak that stands with Doi Suthep at 1,685 metres. There is a small museum of hill-tribe dress and tools in the village.

Mae Sa Waterfall
Eight tiers in Mae Rim, running all year, with a pool at one of the lower levels that people swim in. Close to the city and busy at weekends.

Ban Tong Luang
A managed village near Mae Rim where families from several hill groups live and sell weaving and silverwork to visitors. It is set up for tourism and charges an entry fee; go knowing that, and buy from the makers directly.

Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden
6,500 rai in Mae Rim, with plants grouped by family but planted to look as though they grew there. Glasshouses on the hilltop, and a walkway out through the canopy.

Tad Mok Waterfall
A forest waterfall reached by a short walk from the road, with a pool at its foot deep enough to swim in for most of the year. Quiet even at weekends; there is little at the trailhead, so bring water.

Mon Cham
A hilltop above Mae Rim farmed under the Royal Project, with terraced vegetable plots, flower fields and a line of restaurants and tent camps set along the ridge for the view. Cool, busy at weekends, and best in the cold season when the sky is clear.
